Boarding Two or Three Dogs from the Same Family: What to Expect

If you have two or three dogs, organising care while you're away can feel like twice the work. The good news is that boarding dogs from the same family together is often easier on the dogs than being cared for separately, and it usually costs less than you'd expect.

Can my dogs stay together?

Yes. Every dog at Barkridge has their own private kennel unless they're from the same household and their owners ask for them to stay together. For dogs who share a home, staying together keeps a familiar face nearby and makes settling in quicker. Some family dogs actually prefer a bit of space from each other, and that's fine too. We're guided by what works for your dogs.

Does it cost less than boarding separately?

Boarding multiple dogs from the same family costs less per dog than separate bookings. Our current rates for one, two or three dogs from the same family are on our prices page, so you can see exactly what a stay will cost before you book.

What about feeding and routines?

Dogs from the same home don't always eat the same food or the same amounts, and mealtimes can get competitive between siblings. We feed each dog according to their normal routine, and we can feed dogs from the same family separately so everyone finishes their own bowl in peace. If one of your dogs needs medication, we'll administer it according to your written instructions.

How do I set up a multi-dog booking?

Book online the same way you would for one dog and include each dog in the booking. If your dogs have different needs, like one senior dog on medication and one young dog who loves a play, just note it in the booking and we'll plan their stay around it.
