Barkridge Boarding Kennels

How We Care
Every dog staying at Barkridge receives comfortable accommodation, spacious exercise areas, daily feeding, fresh water, medication where required and individual attention from our experienced team. Discover how our dog boarding in Perth is designed to keep every guest safe, comfortable and happy from arrival through to collection.
1. Arrival & Settling In

Every stay begins with a calm and structured arrival. For everyone's safety, we ask that your dog remains on lead from your vehicle to the first exercise run, as other customers may be arriving or our team may be moving dogs throughout the facility.
One of our friendly team members will greet you, collect your dog's belongings and guide them into a secure run where they can go off lead, have a toilet break and settle after travelling. Once relaxed, they'll be introduced to their private kennel, while many of our regular guests are happy to stay out and enjoy some play before settling in.
2. Comfortable Accommodation
Every dog enjoys their own private kennel, unless they are boarding with dogs from the same family. Each kennel includes a raised chew proof bed with comfortable bedding and blankets provided, along with fresh drinking water at all times. If owners prefer family dogs to have their own space, we're happy to accommodate this.
Our fully insulated kennels are designed for year-round comfort, with large evaporative air conditioning, water misters and natural airflow helping regulate temperatures throughout the day. Dogs can relax at the rear of their kennel for some quiet time or sit at the front to watch the activity around them if they enjoy being more social.

3. Spacious Exercise Areas

Exercise forms an important part of every dog's day at Barkridge. Throughout their stay, dogs move through a structured rotation between their private kennel, secure outdoor runs and our spacious grassed exercise areas.
Every dog's routine is tailored to their individual needs, taking into account the weather, their temperament, energy levels and how they're settling into their stay. This balanced approach provides regular opportunities to exercise, explore and enjoy fresh air, while ensuring every dog remains comfortable and relaxed.
4. Daily Routine
Dogs thrive on consistency, which is why every day at Barkridge follows a structured routine. Regular toilet breaks, feeding times, exercise sessions, rest periods and evening wind down all occur at consistent times throughout the day.
This is also why we maintain strict drop off and collection hours. Keeping interruptions to a minimum helps dogs settle quickly, reduces unnecessary excitement and allows them to learn the daily routine. Before long, they know when it's their turn for exercise, when meals are coming and when it's time to rest, creating a calmer and less stressful boarding experience.
This predictable routine helps dogs settle quickly, feel secure and enjoy their stay from the moment they arrive. More information can be found on our Boarding Policies or FAQ pages.

5. Feeding & Medication

Every dog's feeding routine is followed exactly as entered in your KennelBooker booking. Our team has your feeding and medication instructions with them during every meal, ensuring your dog receives the correct food, portions and any required medication.
If your dog has a sensitive stomach or specialised diet, we recommend bringing their usual food from home. Dry biscuits don't need to be portioned, however fresh or raw meals should be separated into individual disposable bags to help us prepare meals accurately and hygienically.
6. Safe, Secure & Supervised
Your dog's safety is our highest priority. Our facility is fully fenced, monitored by 24/7 CCTV and supervised by experienced staff who live on-site, providing oversight throughout every stay.
With owner consent, suitable dogs may enjoy supervised social play with compatible companions. Every introduction is carefully assessed based on temperament and behaviour, and dogs are only introduced when we're confident it can be done safely. If there is any doubt, dogs simply continue enjoying their own individual exercise routine.

7. Going Home

Collection takes place during our scheduled opening hours to help maintain a calm routine for all dogs. If possible, we ask you to send us your estimated arrival time before collecting your dog so we can have them ready in the front exercise run for a quick and smooth handover.
If you've booked grooming, we'll complete it on the day of, or the day before, collection where possible, so your dog heads home looking, feeling and smelling their best after another enjoyable stay at Barkridge.
Once your dog has been collected, we'll email your invoice and receipt. This email also includes handy links to leave a Google review if you were happy with your experience, and to follow Barkridge on Facebook and Instagram for future updates and photos.
