Dog Boarding for FIFO Workers: Making Every Swing Simple

Working away on a swing means your dog needs reliable care on a repeating schedule, not just the occasional holiday stay. That changes what matters in a boarding kennel. Consistency, easy rebooking and flexibility around roster changes count for a lot more than extras.
Why routine matters for FIFO dogs
Dogs who board regularly settle much faster when each stay looks the same: the same place, the same carers and the same daily routine. By the second or third swing most dogs walk in like they own the place. That familiarity takes a lot of the worry out of leaving, especially for single-dog households where your dog is used to constant company.
Booking around your roster
Once your dog is registered, rebooking online for each swing takes a couple of minutes. If your roster is predictable, you can book stays well ahead and lock in your dates before busy periods fill up. School holidays and Christmas sell out early, so if your swing crosses those dates it pays to book as soon as you know them.
Getting your dog to us
Flights and kennel drop-off windows don't always line up. Our check-in and check-out windows are 8:00am to 9:00am and 4:00pm to 5:00pm daily, and we offer door-to-door transport throughout much of the Perth metropolitan area, subject to availability. Plenty of FIFO owners have their dog picked up before they fly out and dropped home after they land.
What it costs
Our boarding rates are published on our prices page, so you can budget for the year's swings without guesswork. For more on how regular boarding works for FIFO families, see our FIFO dog boarding page, or start with the Perth dog boarding guide if you're comparing options.
If you're starting a new FIFO role and it's your dog's first time boarding, we'd suggest a short stay before your first swing. It lets your dog find their feet while you're still home, and it makes that first real swing much easier on both of you.
